Bird Watching


Bird watching and a nature centric experience there are many varieties of birds are found only in Pithoragarh and C ] haukori region. You can spot babblers, tits, bulbuls, warblers, minivets, woodpeckers, pigeons , myna and the colourful barbets. At the Sattal Forest resort, the sunbird, the red billed magpie, the jungle myna, the long tailed minivet and Himalayan bulbul are spotted in the resort premises itself.

Trekking

Chaukori is a hill station in the district of Pithoragarh. Very often, Chaukori is referred to as the ‘Earthen Bowl of Kumaon’ and very rightly so since the village is shaped like a bowl. To the north of Chaukori, lies Tibet and to the south of Chaukori lies Terai. The Mahakali river runs along its eastern boundary and forms the Indo-Nepal international border. This dreamy hill station is perched at an elevation of 2010 meters above sea level. Chaukori is beautifully covered with forests of deodar, pine and rhododendron, and fruit orchards.

Chaukori is a colorful little hill station of the Pithoragarh, Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. This sleepy town is shaped like a bowl (hence the name) and enveloped by Himalayan peaks all around. Fruit orchards, diverse flora-fauna, and lush green dense forests of pines, oaks, and rhododendrons define the landscape. However, its fame comes from the tea gardens, which were established by the British, thanks to the pleasant climate. Also, the most beautiful sunrise and sunsets await you here at Chaukori. The magical views of the Himalayas during both sunset and sunrise will leave your mouth wide open. The nights are pleasant, and you’ll witness the opening of other worlds in the night skies.

Night Camping

Chukori is a place of Nature which makes it an ideal place to carry out activities such as night camping. Night Camping in Chaukuri is a different experience altogether. Staying in tents deep forest, Just gazing at the starlit sky at night You feel closer to nature after going on an expedition such as night camping..

Halati is 10 km away from Chaukuri. This is a small place, which is surrounded by forests, a small family lives here. There is a 2 kilometer trek to reach here, which goes through the dense forests of Banj, Buransh, from here you can see the Himalayan view like Nanda Devi, Maktoli, Panchuli, etc.it is a very good place for birds watching, you can enjoy nature here, this place is suitable for night camping, living in a tent without light is a different experience.
